Adeno-associated virus-mediated gene transfer could treat infertility
Today, infertility is a major problem involving more than 48 million couples and 186 million individuals worldwide, and the most common treatment option is assisted reproductive technology; however, the complexity of the embryo implantation process usually results in a low success rate (~25%). Scientists attempted to make a functional copy of the mutant gene that causes infertility in mice by delivering it using different viral vectors. The experiment restored sperm production by expressing c-kit ligand in Sertoli's cells of Sl/Sld mice via lentiviral vectors, which produced offspring after monosperm injection in the oocyte.

FOXM1, a new target for anti-aging research
Cellular senescence is an irreversible cell cycle arrest, and cellular senescence is characterised by a progressive loss of cellular function at the molecular, cellular, tissue and organismal levels, which is a major risk factor for the development of chronic disease and declining health. A growing body of evidence suggests that loss of proliferative capacity is a distinguishing feature of cellular senescence, associated with several typical features of aging such as genomic instability, epigenetic dysregulation and cellular senescence.

New Non-invasive Cancer Detection Technology - Cell Free DNA Testing
Cell-free DNA (cfDNA) is a fragment of DNA that is released from cells into the circulation. cfDNA is present in a variety of body fluids and varies in concentration in response to tissue damage, cancer and inflammation. Physiologically, cfDNA in the blood is mainly derived from necrosis and apoptosis of human leukocytes, whereas in certain diseases and special states, other cells also release free DNA into the blood, including circulating tumour DNA derived from tumour cells.

Mesenchymal Stem Cells Prevent Side Effects of Cancer Immunotherapy
Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), the stars of the anticancer world, have shown excellent efficacy in the treatment of a variety of cancers and have brought new hope to many cancer patients since their inception. However, like other anti-tumour drugs, ICIs, while exerting anti-tumour effects, are also associated with the occurrence of immunotherapy-associated adverse events (irAE), which may cause side effects such as autoimmune diseases, and one of the serious side effects is that they may lead to the development of type 1 diabetes mellitus.
