Monkeypox (MPXV), to date, has affected more than 120 countries.2022 The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared Monkeypox as an outbreak of international public health significance. As of 9 September 2022, more than 54,700 cases of monkeypox have been reported globally, including 18 deaths. The MPXV strain isolated in this year's outbreak belongs to the evolutionary branch IIb.
