Do working people even have the freedom to have coffee?

Not long ago, a team of researchers from Xi'an Jiaotong University published an article in the prestigious journal Nutrients that took a swipe at instant coffee. The study found that drinking instant coffee actually accelerates telomere shortening, which reduces life expectancy. What! Coffee can actually cause a loss of life? Then we workers every morning cup of coffee is not "suicide"? Although the degree of sensation is not as high as the aspartame cancer incident, but it seems that our workers will completely lose the freedom of coffee, is this true?

From Bronze to King, the Road to Advancement for the Scientific Junior (5) - Transwell Cell Invasion Experiment Tutorials

Metastasis of tumour cells is composed of a series of complex cell biological events. Firstly, tumour cells undergo in situ invasion, followed by endocytosis into blood vessels, survival in the circulatory system, and with the circulatory system transfer to distant tissues and blood vessels, and exocytosis into other tissues and organs, and formation of metastatic foci to continue to grow, completing the metastasis of tumour cells.

Breakthrough in frozen kidney re-transplantation in experimental rats helps frozen organ transplantation take a step forward

One of the biggest problems plaguing human organ transplants is the rapid damage and decay of the organ in its isolated state. From the moment an organ such as the heart or lungs is disconnected from the organ donor, doctors have only four to six hours to connect it to the new patient's blood supply, for the liver it's 8-12 hours, and for the kidneys it can take up to a day. This results in more than 60 per cent of donor organs not ending up in time to reach patients in need of a transplant. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that fewer than 10 per cent of patients who receive organ transplants receive effective transplants.

From Bronze to King, the Road to Advancement for Scientific Researchers (4) - A Tutorial on Cell Scratch Experiments

Cell scratch assay is an in vitro assay for detecting cell migration ability. Its low cost and ease of operation have made it widely used, and it is usually used to observe the effects of external influences such as drugs and genes on cell migration ability.

Alert, we have over 100 confirmed cases of monkeypox!

Data from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) show that from 2 June to 30 June 2023, 106 new confirmed cases of monkeypox were reported in mainland China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan), of which 48 cases were reported in Guangdong Province, 45 cases in Beijing City, 8 cases in Jiangsu Province, 2 cases in Hubei Province, 2 cases in Shandong Province, and 1 case in Zhejiang Province, with no serious illnesses or deaths at present. Although the virus does not cause high mortality in immunocompetent individuals, it can cause serious illness and death if it spreads to immunocompromised individuals, children, the elderly, pregnant women, and individuals with comorbidities such as diabetes.

From Bronze to King, the Road to Advancement for Scientific Researchers (3) - Tutorial on CCK8 Proliferation Experiments

CCK8 (Cell Counting Kit-8) is a cell proliferation assay kit developed by DOJINDO. Its main active ingredient is tetrazolium salt WST-8, chemically known as 2-(2-methoxy-4-nitrophenyl)-3-(4-nitrophenyl)-5-(2,4-disulfonylphenyl)-2H-tetrazolium monosodium salt, which can be reduced by mitochondrial dehydrogenase to a water-soluble, orange-yellow, dirty dye in living cells, and the number of living cells can be indirectly reflected by using an enzyme marker to measure the absorbance at 450nm.
